Essa série guias do profissional em treinamento faz parte da coletânea de materiais didáticos produzidos pelo Núcleo Sudeste de Capacitação e Extensão Tecnológica em Saneamento Ambiental (Nucase) no âmbito da Rede de Capacitação e Extensão Tecnológica em Saneamento Ambiental (ReCESA) no período de 2006 a 2009.

São doze guias que versam sobre sistemas de esgotamento sanitário, resultado do trabalho coletivo de dezenas de profissionais, os quais serviram de apoio às oficinas de capacitação de operadores em saneamento realizadas durante a vigência da ReCESA.

Os temas que compõem esta série foram definidos por meio de uma consulta a companhias de saneamento, prefeituras, serviços autônomos de água e esgoto, instituições de ensino e pesquisa e profissionais da área, com o objetivo de se definir os temas que a comunidade técnica e científica da região Sudeste considerava os mais relevantes para o desenvolvimento do projeto Nucase.

Enquanto o nível 1 foi elaborado para o profissional que tem o ensino fundamental e eventualmente para o profissional que tem o ensino médio e/ou superior de áreas não afins, o nível 2 foi elaborado para o profissional que tem o ensino técnico ou o ensino médio com experiência na área de saneamento e meio ambiente, e eventualmente para o profissional de nível superior com pouca experiência na área.

Certamente alguns temas abordados nesses guias carecem de atualização tendo em vista devido aos avanços nos conhecimentos e tecnologias na área de esgotamento sanitário durante esse período, bem como há muitos outros temas importantes a serem abordados.

Entretanto, mesmo diante dessas ponderações e sendo os guias direcionado especificamente para profissionais do setor de esgotamento sanitário, configura-se com um material interessante para consulta sobre diferentes temas relacionados aos sistemas de esgotamento sanitário.
